White Rice

20-30min in rice cooker


Brown Lentils

  1. rinse lentils, sift through
  2. soak lentils overnight in fridge (baking soda helps)
  3. rice cooker

  1. rinse beans, sift through
  2. soak beans overnight or 24hr in fridge (baking soda helps)
  3. rice cooker

Adding Flavor

  1. rice

  3. mixed veggies/spinach
  4. olive oil
  5. lemon juice
  6. salt+pepper

  1. grilled or canned chicken
  2. tofu

(this is my own take on the recipe, does not match completely. also, i have not actually tried making it yet :P)



Recipe

cook in rice cooker or pot.

(if adding legumes or fresh meat, pay attention to cooking times!!!!!!!!! especially for beans it would be better to cook/half-cook separately and then turn it into curry)

  1. ADD curry powder(or block), to vegetable/chicken broth/water
  2. START heating
  3. ADD potato slices, veggies, apple slices, and a protein such as legumes or chicken
  4. COOK ingredients throughly. while waiting, prepare coffee if using fresh
  5. ADD red wine
  6. ADD honey, cinnamon, salt, sesame seeds, soy sauce, instant/brewed coffee, cocoa powder/dark chocolate, cornstarch/potatostarch/flour, and yogurt/applesauce/mashed banana/tomato sauce
  7. (if by this point you haven't added any meat or dairy, then make sure to add a healthy fat! (e.g. olive oil)
  8. SIMMER for a bit
  9. ENJOY

Low Spoon Adaptations

WAYS TO MAKE IT EASIER:

use canned/frozen goods or other conveniences (e.g. individual applesauce cups, instant coffee, individually-portioned apple slices...)

SIMPLE RECIPE VERSION:

curry powder, water, canned legumes/meat(drain+rinse), frozen/canned veggies(drain+rinse), applesauce/banana(to thicken the curry + cut the spice)

(*note, the moisture in the fruit will leak. just something to be aware of... oats can help soak it up*)
